Established in 2025, Tearmann Care is a specialist care home dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing sanctuary for children aged 6–13 who have experienced complex developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.

Tearmann comes from the Gaelic (Irish) word meaning sanctuary or boundary.

Tearmann Cottage is a bespoke, modern house designed to contribute to reducing the impact of trauma. Every aspect of the home is designed to reduce rather than induce feelings associated with trauma.

OUR strengths

We are a team of experienced social work professionals and senior practitioners with over
40 years of combined experience working directly with children and young people. Our
background spans both the public and voluntary sectors, where we specialise in supporting
children who present with complex and challenging behaviours. As Therapeutic Crisis
Intervention (TCI) and Restorative Practices leads, we are dedicated to promoting safe,
nurturing, and trauma-informed environments.
